babraque's wager- new and improved! Yvette de Babraque

The Joyful University

Have you heard of the Pascal's Wager? "Pascal argues that it is always a better "bet" to believe in God, because the expected value to be gained from believing in God is always greater than the expected value resulting from non-belief."(Wikipedia)

Let me introduce my own bet, wager or gambit, called the Babraque's Wager: it says that it's always better to believe in conspirational theories rather than in theories of fate, bacause it's more probable to find someone behind all the unhappiness in your life, than not to find anyone, just the fate itself. The value gained from punishing your supposed enemies is always greater than the value gained from conforming yourself with your fate.

Like the Pascal's Wager, Babraque's Wager is not concerned about where the truth is, it's about the value that you may gain from it for yourself. Howere, experience and evidence show that conspirations are much more probable to exist than God, therefore, it is better to Babraque's Wager than to Pascal's Wager.

Hopefully, Babraque's triangle soon to come.
